Where is your child on their Writing Journey?

All the children in Dosbarth Melyn are on different stages of the writing journey. Using this as guidance, can you identify where your child currently is? I would hope that by the end of the year ALL children will be able to write independently and have reached steps 10-12.

You might find that your child is very reluctant to put pen to paper. They will often use avoidance strategies more than any maths or reading activity. It is a matter of confidence so please encourage your child to 'write' as much as possible even though it might not make sense.

Please don't correct spellings as the main aim initially, is to build their confidence and for them to gain the belief that they are actually 'writing.' The more they write and get praised for it the more their self belief and confidence will grow.
